To Live Life Well

A few weeks ago I had shared a song, "I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony. I'd like to hold it in my arms and keep it company...

I'd like to see the world for once All standing hand in hand And hear them echo through the hills For peace through out the land...

It was a happy thought from a happy time, from people who had a skewed sense of where the problems came from and how to solve them. People exemplified by John Lennon's Imagine. Some things I have learned: with the saying All Roads Lead to Rome— may be true, but All Religions Don't Lead Home is also true. Somethings which get in the way are: other people, beliefs, ideology.

  • I am a Lutheran (Luther)

  • I am a Methodist (Wesley)

  • ....Buddhist (Buddha)

  • ....Presbyterian (Presbytery)

  • Catholic (Pope and priests)

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man; But the end thereof are the ways of death.

To the extent one follows principles of God it will give the person a better life. However, unless a body is following the principles for salvation, they won't be saved. If they are following principles as to how to have a better marriage relationship, or how to be a better neighbor, or advice in general that's what they will get. But not salvation, unless they follow the principles for salvation.

When Peter, on the day of Pentecost told those new believers:

Acts 2:

38) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39) For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40) And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 41) Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42) And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

It was simple, after they had heard and believed Peter's and the apostles' teaching, the people repented, were immersed in water, and continued in the Word of God as revealed unto the apostles.

There was no mention of a sinners' prayer and they didn't wait to obey in immersion. There was no just asking Jesus into your heart...you won't find these in scriptures you find those only in the teachings of uninspired men. Who would you rather trust your salvation on? God or men? Satan wants people to believe in lies so they are not saved.

It has become popular to 'not discuss religion' because people tend to get riled up about it, but ever wonder why? Why do they get riled up, and why not discuss it? Nowhere in scripture does it say we're all going to heaven (all religions lead to heaven we're just taking different paths is not in the Bible). Nowhere does the Bible say, choose your own church and follow it and you will get to heaven.

I've heard folks say, you think you're the only ones going to heaven, and I'm saying, oh, no that's not so. I'm trying to follow the scriptures to heaven is true, but I am not the judge of who is on the path with me. I am repeating what the scriptures say if you are following a path not in the scriptures you aren't following the right path.

Matthew 7:

13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
