Monday—Last Day of August

This is it. The last day of this month.

Some people are cheering and some are entering September with fear and trembling. Since I know who holds the future, I'm entering each new day with prayer and confidence. I am taking these beautiful flowers and this opportunity to pray for each of those reading this post to be blessed and drawn closer to The One Who Holds the Future, and may we be blessed not just with prosperity, but with peace and God's blessings.

Something I do, which is short sighted, is trying to separate into sections what I feel I can do, then pray for the things I think are big and important enough for God to take care of. This of course is wrong. Pray over all of our lives and each large and small particle of our lives, that is what we should all do.

Some things we would like God's blessings with: those who are suffering health issues, loss of loved ones, financial struggles, unknown futures, long term/short term decisions, God's protection in these troubled times for our person, and our families' and friends' safety.

Decisions can be so difficult. Wants can disguise themselves as good choices. In the end they were only wants and weren't God's desire for our lives. Because some options are not good or bad the selection should be based on the questions, what is God's will, and will bring me to where I want to be?

A decision which "must be made now", in other words that doesn't give you time to think and pray over it, often is one you should shelve in order to pray over it. There are some conclusions in which God hands you the solution and says here it is, but we must be certain it's from God.

Song, Nearer My God to Thee, Acapeldridge:

"Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:" (Ephesians 1:2-4 KJV)
