Beyond

Cliche's...truisms that were catchy new truths but have grown old.

I don't know who would want to catch flies, and who would waste honey to do so? On the other hand it is good to remember that today is the first day of the rest of our lives. It's also good to remember to live as if today is our last day, because it could be.

I had never really thought of it before, but yes, one of the major characteristic differences between humans and animals is our ability to plan for the future.

In the fable of the ants and the grasshopper, the ants plan ahead and the grasshopper doesn't and he dies at the end of summer. That would describe two sets of creatures, yet most creatures that I can think of, horses, cows, dogs, cats, etc. don't plan for tomorrow. Some birds have a migration route, and probably some other larger animals move from high country to low for winter, but that is due to instinct not planning.

Even though this is the end of the week it is not too late to make a list of the five things for next week that need worked on to improve my life and outlook on life. Getting my house in order one step at a time, seems like a step forward two behind prospect. I can say I know what chaos looks like...

"The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever." (Psalms 111:7-10 KJV)
