Humility
When I began writing it was with the idea that people, all people have struggles. Not that I have all the answers, but I do have the answer that makes a difference.
As a child I watched as the adults in my life thought they had the answers—without 'church'. They believed in God, but church and those imperfect Christians? No thank you.
I was a child and the decisions of the supposed adults, as is the normal case didn't affect only them. It was painful for all of us.
And as I've shared before, even as a child I knew there had to be a better way.
There is and there was a better way. I asked a preacher a few years ago, 'these people aren't Christians as we would acknowledge Christians, but their marriage works very well...'
His reply was that as much of the Christian principles as the two put into their marriage would make all the difference. Again, as much of the Christian/Godly principles as are applied.
However, if people don't honor God first they don't honor anything properly. And the further people get from those Godly principles the less things work well.
When our society still had those who attended church regularly, followed the principles taught there, at least in a cursory way, just as the marriage that contained those principles, that society was a much better society.
As a child I began searching for the answer to what the better way was to make life better and less painful. God kept leading me to Him.
People today have wandered so far from Him. They don't seem to realize how painful their lives are because they have ceased to follow God, to search for His answers.
They need to turn back and remember, seek and ye shall find...
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." (Matthew 6:33-34 KJV)
