Said and Done

I've been told that after all is said and done, more is said than done. That happens in my world and probably in most everyone else's as well.
Years ago I read a self-help book. It gave pointers on how to be more effective in meeting my goals.
One of the first things was at the beginning of the day, sit down and write out a list of things I want to accomplish in the day. Number my items in the order of importance so as to get the most important things done first.
At one time I did that every morning but lately I have been limping along barely in the ball game. Three weeks ago I sat down and made a list hoping to give myself a jump start. Well...
It did help, but I didn't get everything actually done that was on the list. However, I did get the quilt worked on. Now I only have two sides left to finish instead of four. (Roll eyes here. yes, I've worked on it, but not finished it.) I did call Merle Norman, and I've worked at finding ponies even though I've not found them yet.
We need to find a farrier to trim our Morgan mare's feet, and last but not least I've been digging around to find paints and supplies to start my Bob Ross journey.
The problem with lists is they never end. Not for me at least. Even when I finish one thing there is another something to take its place. An orchard and a beekeeper, a fishing cabin on the pond, and a building for the ponies and tack, and of course our six million dollars.
My sister asked me several years ago, why six million? I guess it's a good round number, and I've been 'poor' so long it sounds like something that not even I could lose. I told a bank teller one time I was working on my second million.
I told him I'd given up on the first million, soooo... He said that it was really thoughtful of me to leave the first million for someone else. Those were the days.
"Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is." (Ephesians 5:14-17 KJV)
