Take Care

More often than I have cared for lately I have seen shows where, and it's most always a female and not always a young female, is advised to be wary of someone, or something and...

Her reply is always, "I can take care of myself." And if a male has cautioned the heroine she usually says it with a toss of the head and a nose in the air look.

I have a feeling that women have for the most part throughout history believed this lie, but lately we have been encouraged to trust in it.

How many times have people started off on a simple errand, maybe to pick up some groceries, gas, or just to go to the daily job, and never return home?

We shouldn't take any day for granted, or any person for granted either. In the truth of scripture which tells us, 'this too will pass' we know that life under the sun is precarious at best.

We should be here to help one another because no matter what we may think no person (man or woman) is an island. We need others to help us, and we need others to help.

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that." (James 4:14-15 KJV)
