God in a Pocket

I find it difficult to wrap my mind around

God.

A God

who appears in a tiny flower, yet can't be contained in an unlimited universe.

How big is your God? I heard someone say recently, "If you can put God in your pocket, your God is too small."

I've never consciously tried to put God in my pocket, but...

We do limit God with our perceptions. With our limited understanding we put a frame around our God. Scripture does not say, 'If your God is as a grain of mustard seed...'. We know it says faith.

God is not our fairy God-father to just grant our wishes either. Even the Apostle Paul didn't have his every whim granted.

In God's time and for God's glory things happen, and that should teach us to be content.

"And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (2 Corinthians 12:7-9 KJV)
