Color Two
I've been told that deer don't see colors, only black and white, or bland colors.
This morning I've seen the sun for about five minutes, but even then it was welcome.
It's been rather deerscaped around here for several days, like living in a fog...well, that's what we've been living in, a fog.
One of our temporary church members left for home yesterday. She's from the Philippines, and she said she would miss the snow. She had been working with a local business for a year, so she got in on snow for long enough to either love or hate it.
My sister wanted someone (family) to move out to California to be a partner in crime. The tough part was those of us who are here are here because it's who we are...and snow is part of who we are.
My sister tried to influence her sister-in-law to move, but when told by her s-i-l 'there isn't any snow', she said well, you can see it up there on the mountains.
She grew up in Iowa and knew quite well it isn't always cold and snow back here. It could be down right hot during the summer.
Many's been the years we haven't had air conditioning. One year in particular it was so hot that who ever the current baby was had heat rash so bad he looked like he had measles, big red blotches all over.
Apparently sister and I were too much alike in one way and not enough alike in another way. Now I can look out and remember the fun we used to have in the snow, and don't have to get out into it.
Same with the hot weather. Then when it gets where I can't breathe I turn on the air.
