When You Don't Have Much

Most of us have experienced people who have very little to say, but they say it a lot, and often loudly.

Then we also know a few wise people who like the 'Wise old owl that sat in the oak. The more he saw the less he spoke. The less he spoke the more more he heard, And we should all be more like that old bird.

And then there are the rest of us. Knowing when to speak and when to keep silent is a talent, as well as what to say and what not to say.

As I've heard and as I've realized in real life, I always know what to say and what not to...which I generally find out one minute after I've said the wrong thing.

There are times when I seem to have put both feet in my mouth and walked around, or as I've said before, I've bitten my tongue enough it's two inches shorter, but it's still too long.

My favorite admonition is, 'Keep your words sweet, you never know which ones you'll have to eat.'

"Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter." (Ecclesiastes 10:20 KJV)
