How Can This Be?

The last post was titled: 'Starting over', and had a picture of Mary and an angel.

Starting over...

It's something people haven't come to understand. If you talk to people about Christianity and following God you often hear people respond, 'I keep the ten commandments, so I'm fine'.

"But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons." (Galatians 4:4-5 KJV)

The Ten Commandments were under the Old Testament law—A law that Jesus' death and resurrection came to replace.

No, we can't go out and wreak havoc because we aren't under the Old Law, and we don't keep the Old Law any longer.

"That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;" (Ephesians 2:12-15 KJV)

So, with the birth of Jesus, God began the starting over, a new system that united Jews and Gentiles into one new body.

"Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: " (2 Timothy 2:10-11 KJV)
