We Talk
Talking about thankfulness this time of year abounds in many places.
We had a good Thanksgiving Day. This year my daughter was in charge of coordinating things, but with our group that isn't too awful a job.
We've never gone away hungry from the table and never lacked for good fellowship.
Old Fuzzy has been learning to cook since I've been incapacitated and has even branched into a couple of desserts. Our Grandson, Josh visited us Wednesday, and Old Fuzzy made chili and a peach cobbler.
Thursday/turkey day, Old Fuzzy prepared the turkey and ham, made gravy, and baked a pie...with the help of Sara Lee. Old Fuzzy and I come from the era of real mince meat and we like mince meat pie.
That was a bygone era, and other than ordering it from England/UK, I don't know of anywhere to get honest mincemeat with meat in it.
Old Fuzzy's pie was good, the day was good, but it's been two hard days for me, so today I slept—and slept.
Keep this though in mind: "Sometimes you have to let go of the picture of what you thought life would be like and learn to find joy in the story you're living."
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:11-12 KJV)
