Perspective
"People who ask me what I'm doing tomorrow probably assume that I even know what day of the week it is." (Old Timers)
As my Grandpa used to say, "The weeks go fast, but the days go slow."
I don't know how or why that happens but it can. Mostly my days still go fast so I've only reached the stage where it's Sunday then it's not...Usually it's Friday.
We had four birthdays last month and we have at least three this month. I try to make birthday cards for all the Grandkids (at least on occasion). I've gotten very innovative with my limited knowledge and supplies.
Making things special. How many of us do that? It is a hard choice. Why, you might ask is that so? Because when you do something for others, as in birthday gifts, or just day to day kindness...
We put our selves out there and what if they don't appreciate it? What if they don't realize those cookies, cakes, a special meal, or what ever—what if the other party or parties don't recognize it as a special offering from your heart?
One of the assignments I gave my youngest son was to copy and memorize a poem called, 'Gifts Of Love', by Mayflower. It is worth a repeat.
Gifts of Love
For my home and parents' care,
For food to eat and clothes to wear,
For loving friends and happy hours,
The song of birds and fragrant flowers;
Dear Father, watching from above,
I thank thee for these gifts of love.

An attitude of gratitude makes all the difference in our lives.
