Looking for the Line

So many lines, so little time. What kind of line are you looking for?

There are many different lines in the world. Some people talk about 'drawing a line in the sand', or 'keeping one's foot on the right side of the line', or as my daughter was told about a preparation for elementary school for youngsters , 'it only teaches them to stand in line at the water fountain'...

So, where's the line? How do we measure up? Is it as Seth Godin says: "we need to model our preparation, our effort and our form against a standard, not base it on the outcome" -SG-

I suppose standard is used in part for drawing the line in the sand, keeping the foot on the correct side of the line, but the line at the water fountain? I think that's useless.

That is more in keeping with 'keeping people in line', and that standard isn't a good standard. It models our preparation, effort, and form into fitting into someone's man not a God made box.

God's design for His children is for good, healthy growth, producing excellent creative fruits. What other people see as good and healthy may not be.

I'm thinking of Dictators who try to turn the world into something of their making, and it's evil, twisted and ugly.

James 3:14 "But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15) This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16) For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17) But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18) And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace."
