Today is Later
2 Kings 7:3 "And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?"
Some people believe the Bible is 'dusty, dry facts and thou shalt nots.' But that is wrong. When young I we didn't have a Bible in the house, so I never read any of those stories, but this one with the lepers would have been a favorite.
This particular happening begins in the earlier chapter in 2 Kings 6:24 "And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria."
Of course, Samaria was the capital city of the Northern Kingdom as opposed to Jerusalem, which was the capital city of Judah, the Southern Kingdom. And Syria was Syria, as it is today, but different.
In this account, Samaria is under siege, and suffering greatly, and the four lepers aren't welcomed either place.
They are suffering the same fate as those in the city stricken by the siege—they are dying of starvation. So the lepers decide 'to go, and fall away to the Syrians. If they kill us we shall but die...'

Often it is easier to tell someone else what they need to do. However, in our own situations, logic escapes us and we are left wondering what to do.
As with the four lepers their options were limited: if we go into the city we die. If we sit here we die. If we go to the Syrians all they can do is kill us and we die, but they might save us alive and...
I'm not saying collaborating with the enemy is a good thing, but through their activity the lepers found the solution that God had already planned.
So, 'why sit we here?' Maybe today is the tomorrow you've been waiting for?
