Happy Wanderer
There is a song by the name, 'Happy Wanderer'.
When living at my Grandparents's farm, I often wandered along the deer trails in the timber, some of which resembled this picture. I most often sang the song "I love to go a wandering along the mountain track, and as I go I love to sing my knapsack on my back..."
Here is the King's Singers link, but if perchance you've got a weird sense of humor, the youtube following the K.S. is of the Chardon Polka band (it follows the King's Singers, and there is a link to only it second here) is quite a turn. So, here's the link for KS,
and the Chardon Polka Band:
This was a real march down memory lane, and I will say the Polka Band was a hoot. Maybe the Fuzzies ought to look into this further...
At times living life is like wandering. Sometimes it's happy wandering and then...
We wake up and find that some of the greatest lessons in life come at the most unexpected moments. Here are several observations from my back porch:
Making good decisions doesn't make you perfect, and making bad decisions doesn't make you happy
Doing what makes you happy is usually a bad decision. Some days no matter what you do it doesn't work, and in the end, doing the best you can is the best you can do.
The Bible tells us to submit unto the Lord, and how much better our journey is when we do. However, when we're in the midst of doing— it is too easy to lose sight of our Commander.
That's when we wander astray. When we commit our ways unto the Lord and let Him guide us life is much better. We must focus on and spend time daily in God's Word in order to keep our wandering happy.
