Perfect Praise
My father-in-law had some interesting sayings such as, 'Some people wouldn't be happy if you hung 'em with a new rope.'
Some days I feel like I've been hung out to dry and it could have been with any old rope that would keep me flapping in the wind.
It doesn't have to be a Monday morning either. When you are self-employed it means just what it implies. You call your shots, and no matter the day or the rope...you've got to get up and get it together.
It could be considered a deep conversation, or not, but speaking to our son, we both are intrigued by several observations.
People who survive horrendous situations, and they come out scarred, but more importantly strong and wise. They survive where others don't...what is the secret of their survival?
I'm thinking of people such as Corrie ten Boom and Viktor Frankl. I don't know Professor Frankl's complete philosophy, but he has noteworthy quotes and points.
This is a five minute excerpt of one of his speeches. I love accents but in listening here, a person has to tune their ears to his 'speaking marvelous accent w/o much English'...

This is a truth. Another truth is that the highest form of praise is emulation. In a search for a deep meaning in life, the best place to look is in the Bible.
It is uncanny that many people who absolutely do not believe in God, set out to prove there is no God and that the Bible isn't true, end up becoming believers who prove to themselves just the opposite.
