"The mirror on my wall Casts an image dark and small
But I'm not sure at all it's my reflection
I am blinded by the light Of God and truth and right And I wander in the night without direction"
Poignant words from the heart of a poet. Yet, as one of the commenters on the song said, 'It sounds to me like a person who is running from the truth.'
The Apostle Paul was blinded by the light (of Jesus) and it changed his direction. Instead of wandering without direction it gave him a new and better direction.
"No matter if you're born To play the King or pawn For the line is thinly drawn
'tween joy and sorrow So my fantasy Becomes reality And I must be what I must be and face tomorrow"
Two of my fellow sixth grade classmates had a daily chess game they played at lunch-time.
I believed you had to be intelligent to play chess. Cathy, the female of the pair, was top of the class scholastically. So Clark, her male opponent I assumed was smart as well.
I don't know what happened to Cathy, but a few years ago I read in a newspaper that Clark had joined the military. After which he had become a martial arts instructor...
I don't know why the point was made that he was battling and overcoming drug addiction.
King? Pawn? Joy? Sorrow? In life's game there is a thin line. It isn't up to life though, as to what we do with our reality.
I've said and written this before; Life makes cowards of us all in some way or another. At least we come up short in ways we could control but we can't.
To say that we are human can be an excuse making. It can also be honesty. Only God is infinite and can do everything that needs to be done.
The Apostles in Acts 6:2&3 "said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. 3) Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business."
Making priorities—making it work.
"I'll continue to continue to pretend My life will never end And flowers never bend With the rainfall"
Acts 6:1 "And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. 2) Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. 3) Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. 4) But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word."
