Ten Words:

Ten words? If you only had ten words to tell the world something what would you use?

Would you warn people of impending danger? "Watch Out! It's Coming!"

Would you encourage them? "Change today, you can be better." Or, "You're doing great, keep it up."

How about discourage people? "Don't go there.Turn around that's not the way..."

Words. A good short story is harder to write than a novel. In a short story every word counts. In a good short story the author uses every word and turn of words to their fullest effect.

Words. That's all an author has to take your heart away. I've read an author has the first ten words to capture the reader...

Or, as Seth Godin has written: "As Jay Levinson said, the best billboard ever said, “Free coffee, next exit.”

I don't know who Jay Levinson is, but that's less than ten words, and it gets to the heart—
