Good Morning, Mr. President

I haven't done a Good Morning Mr. President for a few weeks. I got hung up on this subject. But here are some thoughts.

Following the picture of President Trump on the phone with the caption: If the President called you what would you say to him?

This would be exactly what happens if that ever came about. It's like a Don Knots moment when the eyes bug out, the mouth opens fish-like, and not a word comes forth.

But in a world where we only dream, there are things that we would like to say. For instance...

Benjamin Franklin is credited with the saying, "Nothing is certain except death and taxes." And as a business man, Mr. President, you know how taxes work better than I do.

You know this country didn't start out with an income tax. There were various ups and downs of taxation, but in the beginning tariffs and excise taxes paid the bills. But you know that our current income taxes aren't about paying bills. They are about power.

It began as class bickering. The poor resented those with money. Instead of figuring out how to make their own fortune they envied those with money. Some schemed at how to get into the wallet of the wealthy.

Early in the 1900s, it started out as a 'soak the rich' or 'make those rich devils pay their fair share campaign. The push-backs and consequences backfired. It gave the political class power over the working class Joe.

Lately I've seen too many people who believe that wealthy people have cheated poor people and that's how they got 'rich'. Maybe some wealthy people have.

Most wealthy folks have worked hard to get what they have. Why do people think they deserve a portion of what someone else worked for, and they have not?

Our government needs to be reined in. The IRS is government sanctioned mobsterism that punishes people for working hard.

People are saying this louder and longer. We need something different. What? A Flat or Fair tax? Whatever it is it needs to stop giving an unelected bureaucracy mob rule over citizens.

This is a short synopsis of the history of income taxes:

Ecclesiastes 2:21 "For there is a man whose labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil."
