Later Never Comes
“I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.” ― Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken
The above snippet of a poem by Robert Frost, for reasons unknown to me, stuck in my mind several weeks worth of posts ago. The phrase, 'with a sigh, ages and ages hence' haunted me until I looked it up.
Making a choice. Life is full of many choices.
Often there is no right or wrong choice, but...
Sometimes it is a wrong time, sometimes a wrong choice.
I've seen people choose games they can’t possibly win. That approach works for losers, as it lets them off the hook. They plan on losing so no one expects anything out of them.
They don't want to work out what to do if they win. Or, if you win once, you have to do it again. And again.
I've seen people walk away from good jobs, making good money, more than once. They get too close to being successful and bam, they're gone.
They have issues. Those people have an unsolved hurt, or trigger. Can it be overcome? Yes. With a good counselor.
"Paying attention isn't the same as listening. Paying attention is much deeper."
What game are you playing? What questions are you asking? What does life look like? What do you want your life to look like?
