Bird on the Road

It was alive, but... They wait until the last minute, sitting in the middle of the road. Most of the time they fly off in the nick of time.

We have the fattest birds. And they're happy happy birds. Our birds don't sit on the road. I have a fat robin that likes to sit on a flower planter next to the empty bird feeder.

The book I'm reading loses me when it begins to liken scriptures, specifically the garden of Eden, to an allegory. I suppose as a writer, it is difficult to get it right with every reference, but excuse me, scripture may contain allegory, but is marked as allegory, just as parable is marked as parable.

People across the globe argue over the right belief system. Your way or my way, which one is right? However, that isn't the right question.

There are a number of instances where men have set out to disprove the Bible. They were dead set against that tome of what they believed was stories, and in some cases lies.

The book Ben Hur by Lew Wallace was the author's search for truth. He had been a wishy washy believer until a conversation with agnostic Robert Ingersoll. That spurred Wallace to begin researching and eventually grounding his faith in God.

There are, as I've said, others who have been agnostic or atheistic and through their study to disprove it found too much truth to ignore.

The parable of the Sower tells us there are many reasons people leave the faith: Mark 4:3 "Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: 4) And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side... 5) And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth... 7) And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it... 8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit..."

Interesting how at different points in our lives our hearts change. A current believer asked us why don't people see? Yet, he himself admitted to being blind for a long time before coming to faith. So he went from stony ground to good ground.

Life brings us to where we need to be to see God's plan, may he open our eyes to see and find.

Luke 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? 7) But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. 8) Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9) But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
