Friends, Foes, and Other Fellows
We live in a fishbowl world. This phenomenon came home to us two years ago through a funny happening.
Old Fuzzy stopped at a local convenience store for fuel. While there he decided to purchase a box of their 'day old donuts'. We don't indulge in donuts often, but he was being a wee bit wild at that moment.
That night at Bible Study our daughter-in-law was bursting to tell us something. What had her was so excited? So and so that worked at the convenience store had told her that Old Fuzzy had bought a box of...
We don't indulge in donuts often and we didn't intend to cause an earthquake when we do, but we were astounded when that occasion had made the headlines in our local community.

Several incidents, like plastic straws, drink size controls, and recycling have come to pass that cause me to think we've become George Orwell's 1984 Americanized version.
A good family was assaulted by police for not taking their child to the emergency room, when said child had a slight temperature? How has it become so easy for the government to kidnap children?
Here is a link to the story:
The gist is that all three children were taken away from the parents and put in child custody. They may still be there. The statistics that I have read are that 75% of children taken like this are likely to be sexually abused. That would be horrible for the caring honest parent knowing they can't protect their children.
There are cases where children need protection, but those cases go unheeded.
Do we have a rise in people abusing children? Maybe, or maybe there is just a greater reporting of the problem. Since many believe it's a right to abort babies, is it a lack of respect for life?
Are we being jerked around by a system that has no tolerance for variations? Is this a way to crack down on the religious folk as well as the homeschooled children? We live in a wicked world, but there is a real problem here. We need to ask what the right question is to solve that problem. We must be ever vigilant.
