Telescopes vs. Microscopes
It pays to look at opportunity with a telescope.
And it often pays to look at trouble with a microscope. So they say. I don't know if that would be comparable to 'Scanning the world for options for success'? But why a microscope for trouble?
We usually find what we're looking for, and why would a person want to look at trouble, let alone with a microscope?
Looking for hope. Looking for good. With ten tons of snow melting outside, we're looking for spring.
I am very remiss this year. I have become more and better at procrastinating in this area.
Procrastination has always been an area of expertise for me. This picture above should be sitting (in reality) in my house. It is not...
I have written a number of posts in past years on 'starting plants at home'. This picture comes with one of them, but my 'archives' on my Healing Thoughts blog are a mystery to me. Here is a link to one of the first ones I did March 22, 2012. There are more on that site if you look for them, and garden info as well.
Last year I had a few posts on this author website as well. Gardening posts written on May 2, 15, 2018, and I may have had gardening things in June as well.
One thing that has come up lately. A friend of mine called several weeks ago asking me about fertilizer. She had gotten some seeds to start, I think it was tomato, pepper, cabbage, and maybe one other plant.
On the directions it said plainly: do not fertilize. I don't remember if it had a time specification. I told her that I look for 'unfertilized potting mix' which can be difficult to find.
Old Fuzzy found some at Wal Mart last year, and my friend did this year as well. I start the seeds in the individual packs(see the pictures) in unfertilized mix, waiting until they get their first set of 'true' leaves. I show this, what is meant by 'true' leaves, in another post.
When the plants get to their true leaves stage, I use 7 drops of "Plant Food" in a 16 oz. bottle of water. I like the water bottle with a pull spout.
I picked up the Plant Food I use on accident many years ago. It was sitting beside some other fertilizer I thought I wanted, and I picked this one up instead.
I'm going to leave our discussion here on plants for now and leave you with best wishes for the day and for the coming week.
