What goes around comes around...

What is the difference between Jesus' words in Matthew 7:12 "All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them..."

And the bumper sticker "Do unto others before they do unto you"?

What kind of world do we want to live in? We have heard of 'paying it forward'. When someone goes through a fast food line or something similar and after they pay their tab, they leave money for someone behind them.

I've seen it done perhaps in other countries at restaurants to help the poor and homeless who have nothing.

Compassion. It isn't something you can force others to have or to do. There are many religions that impress on their followers the duty that we all have for one another, to help and have pity for one another.

As a coin with two sides there are times when many have the need and the same person later may have the opportunity.

Jesus taught it is more blessed to give than to receive, yet in order to allow others the benefit of the blessing, we need to allow them to give.

My mother was sick. She knew she was sick for several years, but she was going to get insurance before she went to the doctor...

But she never did get insurance. At last she was diagnosed with lung cancer. They removed one lung, and the doctor told her she could have another ten years of life if she would stop smoking.

She never did quit smoking and she lived two more years. Old Fuzzy divided the kids up to stay with family and friends, borrowed money for the trip, and we went to visit her. We didn't have much time to take care of her business in the short time to us allotted to us.

While there one of the volunteers working with her said to me, "The Lord tells me you need this money," and she tried to give me some money. It wasn't all of the amount we had borrowed, but it was at least half of the amount.

I told her, no, no, we're fine. Don't worry we've got it covered. But long story short, she insisted the Lord told her we needed it. I did relent. I told her thank you, very much.

I told Old Fuzzy, 'who was I to argue with the Lord?'

Isaiah 65:24 "And it shall come to pass that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear."

Matthew 6:7 "And in praying use not vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8) Be not therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him."
