All We Have
Recently an article was shared on my Face Book page from a local health care organization.
I'm not an activist. You live your life, and I'll live mine.
I do have my opinions, but we try to keep them in our own envelope unless...
When people try to pass their agenda off on their unsuspecting fellow human beings as facts, that riles my ire.
I happen to have the privilege of living in more than one century, and in some sense more than one lifetime.
Being raised by my Grandparents doesn't equal being raised in the 1920's or 1930's. But it makes my upbringing off-kilter somehow, like a paradigm shift.
Most in America today don't know where their food comes from. When someone with 'doctor' in their title says, we're the only creatures that drink milk from another species. People say, well, I guess that's so.
But it isn't. And when the same like labeled individual says, we're the only creatures that partake of milk (and perhaps milk products) after weaning. People say well, I guess that's so.
But, that's not really true. And when so called educated people say that farmers and dairy farmers torture their cows and rip the calves from their mamas. People say, well, I never! That's just wrong!
But that isn't true either. As someone who was raised on homegrown non-pasteurized milk, we also gave some of the warm fresh cow milk to the cats and dogs. After that, any leftover milk from the house went to the hogs.
We raised our family on the same kind of milk, and true to form, first, warm from the cow the cats and dogs get fed milk. Any leftover from the house was fed to the hogs and chickens.
About farmers that abuse their animals.
Most of this lie comes from organizations like Peta.
The dirty truth about Peta and like minded people is they believe humans are the reason this earth is winding down. We are causing all the problems in the world according to them.
The dirty truth is, with or without humans this world will not last forever. This world has it's problems and some of those problems include humans. It also includes cows that fart and belch, and other animals with body functions.
It also includes volcanoes that belch vast amounts of stuff into the air. It includes things many of which neither they nor we can control.
In order to accomplish their agenda, Peta sends their minions out. These minions join themselves to unsuspecting farmers as if they are ordinary joes needing a job.
The farmer hires them and the minions make set up scenes of 'farmer abusing his animals'. Except it's taken out of context, distorted, or out and out fake.
Disclaimer here, I don't follow Peta or their videos. I've seen only one photo along these lines. It had dairy cows standing in what appeared to be water or some liquid past their hooves. The cows looked confused and there was no way to know what was happening.
Someone commented on that pic that he had worked in dairy when he was young. He said it looked like a perversion of some part of the operation, but it was not the normal procedure. Which would account for the cows, who are creatures of habit, looking as if they were confused.
I did watch a brutal video on a commercial duck raiser. Instead of proving that the farmer was abusing the ducks, it was the farm worker himself that was cruel to the fowls.
Farmers are not in business to abuse or torture their beasts. They are in business to make a profit. Bona fide farmers care for their animals as they would for their families.
I also find it odd that these people who are concerned with separation of cow and calf (as being a horrible crime) aren't concerned with human moms leaving their babies at the day care or baby sitters, sometimes within days or weeks of giving birth.
Here are some other foolish thoughts: cows are forcibly impregnated.
We've begun projecting our feminist ideals on nature and animals. It's like 'birds & bees'. Birds and bees reproduce, every year and in their own cycles. Cows do too. If left in the wild there are such things as bulls. Male bovine without udders, by the way, that would do the job of...well, of a bull.
Cows get really antsy if not impregnated either
artificially or naturally, because they aren't feminists, and to reproduce is what they do.
Another foolish lie these people tell? It hurts cows to be milked. No, it doesn't hurt the cow, it is part of what mommas do to raise their babies. They give milk.
1 John 4:1 "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2) Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3) and every spirit that confesseth not Jesus is not of God: and this is the spirit of the antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it cometh; and now it is in the world already."
