Spring

I know, it looks like I'm dreaming. Getting everyone's hopes up before the cake is out of the oven. But even though it isn't out there yet now is the time to prepare for spring.

We've barely begun winter, yet under the cold blanket of snow...spring is there, waiting to burst out into a shower of beauty.

The weather person has called for four to eight inches of snow this evening and we're as ready as we ever are. The kinda sorta, sorta thing.

We have milk and eggs, flour and even some bread. Our toilet paper is still good, and we have wood for the fire.

Funny how people prepare for these things. In our neck of nowhere people don't usually get excited. The second year Old Fuzzy and I were married a blizzard/snow storm took out our electricity for over a week.

We had wood for the stove, kerosene and candles, and I still cooked on a gas stove. And of course you go to bed early. We weren't big into TV and no computers or cell phones were on our horizon.

We didn't know what we didn't have...

With or without electricity it is time to pull out the garden catalogs which have been arriving for several months, and pull out my leftover seeds and get things busy. I will start my in door seeds in about a month to six weeks.

This picture was taken several years ago. I have my garden catalogs, my garden journal with the notes on the previous year's entries. And I have a goodly pot of English tea and muffins.

Genesis 8:20 "And Noah builded an altar unto Jehovah, and took of every clean beast, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt-offerings on the altar. 21) And Jehovah smelled the sweet savor; and Jehovah said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake, for that the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done. 22) While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."
