An Engaging Title
I should have a contest. What would be an engaging title for a post? For this picture it might be 'icy fingers', Fairy Princess World', or 'Breathtaking'.
A scene like this, real or just a picture, triggers a memory I shared with my daughter years ago. Back in the day when we were reading some such story about Ali Baba and the forty thieves. Or the Arabian Nights.
The hero of the story has come across some ring that would make him invisible. (Ha, and you thought that 'ring' was invented with Tolkien and the Hobbits.) I don't remember if it was Ali Baba, so I'll attribute it to him.
There is a Sultan who has several daughters and a mystery. Every night when they retire their shoes are new. However, in the mornings all of them have worn out shoes that must be replaced. The shoes look as if they've been danced in all night.
Several other poor unfortunate men have been hired to solve this problem of the worn out shoes or else die trying, and all have died trying.
Ali Baba of course has the winning key that no one but he knows of. He doesn't eat his supper laced with the sleeping potion, slips on his ring, and follows the princesses into an underground cavern.
It's the underground cavern lit by a thousand lights, with crystal trees and scenery that sparkle and glitter that reminds me of these kinds of winters with these kind of trees. The beauty is so poignant yet can be so deadly.
