Just a Servant
I'm an amazing person. I'm so amazing I even amaze myself. I'm laughing here, because most people who know me understand what I'm meaning. Some days I get things done, then there is most of my life.
The fans are running today. The above picture is a few of the fans in our area. We have an extraordinary amount of wind in this area.
This causes a number of jokes in our family and amongst some of our acquaintances. For instance, If they'd just turn those fans off maybe it wouldn't be so windy. Or, It's cold enough they could turn the fans off. One more? It's hot. I wish they'd turn the fans back on...
Any number of jibes at the fans. Some of us don't particularly like the fans. Outsiders have said people that are being paid for them like them and people who aren't don't like them.
That could be true. The reason we don't have them on our land is because we don't like them. Since we didn't like them, we didn't sign up for them. Which means we aren't getting paid to have them.
However, we could have had them and gotten paid for them. Now, it is true that not everyone had the right spot to put them and therefore they wouldn't have had the option.
We are being flooded with golden sunshine and we are being treated to raw, cold wind which gives us nice cold weather. Old Fuzzy is going to attempt to 'pick our corn' this morning.
One of the first blog posts I did was on this very subject. Here is the link to, it's supposed to be the post entitled, Fuzzy Farmer Strikes Again. I still enjoy watching it and you might as well.

God gave Adam the job of dressing and keeping the Garden. Adam was a gardener and caretaker. A steward if you will, and God told Adam as well as the earth that he had dominion... in Genesis 1:27 "And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28) And God blessed them: and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
My grandparent's land was a beautiful homestead. Of course memories play a large part in that statement, but there are some facts that uphold the idea.
It was a twenty acre plot. Eleven and a half acres were tillable or farmable. The rest slid off down into the river, and a wee bit of land was land-locked on the other side of the river.
On the farmable piece sat the house, barn, granary, garage/corn crib, paddock with two corn cribs, and of course the farm field. The part that slid into the river was used for grazing/pasture.
As long as Grandpa farmed and kept animals the land did well. Once he wasn't able to raise the animals the pasture became unnegotiable.
Through the years the experts have done some non expert things. The Asian beetles for example that have caused much problems. Another item was the multi-flora rose. It sounded like a good idea, but quickly became a noxious weed.
It becomes a real problem, especially on hilly pastures. Grandpa didn't plant it so where it came from isn't known. It may be spread by song birds, but however, something did a prolific job.
