Peak


So, I began this on the pinnacle of the week—Wednesday. We are now on the other side of the peak, and on our way down.

We ended last time with financial depressions, panics, and recessions. What does that have to do with farmers? During most of the financial set backs there was a movement back to the land.

This made sense for a number of reasons.

Living on the land can be cheaper. With a small amount of land a family can provide for themselves at least a portion of their sustenance.

For example, a small intensive garden can provide food for the here and now, and maybe even for after the growing season. A few chickens for eggs—actually chickens are considered entry level homestead animals.

I would not suggest sheep as anywhere close to entry level, but some people like goats. Every animal or fowl has its learning curve.

However, having said that, and getting back to the pinnacle of the matter, most people don't ask the right question(s). In our greenhouse adventure I found the one question in retrospect, and by putting several things together.

Just as people were given our number for reference, the information printed up and handed out was all speculation and based on speculation—people had put up these structures but no one was at the production or profit point.

Question? Who's doing this, selling products, and what's their profit now? Currently?

In our surrounding society we see some odd fish beginning to surface. I saw a picture of a girl, aged twenty something holding a sign that read, 'I believe in socialism, because life should be fair.'

First question? What kind of a world does that person live in? I've taught my kids on a number of occasions: Life is not Always Fair. That poor girl/woman needs to go live in Russia or China, or even Venezuela. I don't think I want her or her friends anywhere near running my world.

Another question: Why are we seeing so many in this country supporting this kind of thinking? And getting closer to the real question, What do we need to do to educate the next generation as to WHY what they are so glibly spouting is dangerous and dangerous?

My suspicions are that we need to totally rework, restructure, and rebuild our education systems. Immediately and posthaste. From the moment Horace Mann took over education at gunpoint things began going downhill.

Our future depends on our children. Whoever has a hold on them has a hold on that future—our future. So many shocking, horrible things are being taught in our schools and mostly without parents knowledge.

It seems to have gotten past the point of no return. Teaching children things that should be left to parents and parental discretion is wrong. It is time for parents to speak up, but who will?

I fear we will find ourselves being thrown on the trash heap of history mostly because we allowed people who are controlled by Satan screaming, or bullying us into silence. We are silenced because we are not perfect. We know that, and we are honest enough to admit it.

So the nasty people put their snooty nose in the air and tell us 'you can't judge me,' and they use scripture (as Satan is wont to do) 'he who is without sin cast the first stone.'

The problem with their argument is, we aren't judging them, God is. When scripture calls out sin, no matter if it's ours or theirs, it calls it for what it is.

Yes, lying is wrong, adultery, stealing, or...

6:9 "Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?
