As the World Turns
Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, Rejoice. 5) Let your forbearance be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6) In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
"Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life and the world."
"Gratitude is the sign of noble souls."
"Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul."
All three of these quotes come from the book, 'The ABCs of Success', by Bob Proctor. While I only agree with one third of most of the deductions in his book, I have found his writings interesting, and I do like the gratitude quotes.
One of the meanest things in this world are people who aren't grateful. I don't have everything I'd like to have, but like in the film of Anne of Green Gables (I don't remember if it was in the book), where Anne tells her bosom friend, that she's quite content with her string of pearls given to her by Matthew. Anne has her youth, her family, friends, and her imagination, and that is good enough for her.
The challenge from the Bob Proctor book is to name eleven things we are thankful for, or to make an 'Eleven of My Most Lovely Things'—(People not counted). So, that would put God, family and friends as an automatic...
