A New Week
I am sitting in an almost cleaned out office. This hasn't happened in this room for twenty years plus. To say I'm excited is an understatement.
On my birthday I received several lovely presents. One of them was a beautiful wind chimes made by my daughter-in-love. I wanted to hang it in the office, but I jokingly said, 'now I will have to renovate the office so that it is worthy of such a beautiful gift".
Well, I was joking, but the seed was planted. I still have some cleaning out to do, but we are planning on painting tomorrow. Wheee.
This house is a 1940s vintage farmhouse with three additions. It began with two bedrooms, kitchen-dining room and living room, with the potty at the end of a long path. At some point they (my in-laws) made the living room larger, made the one bedroom into a bathroom, and added two bedrooms on the east. I think those were two separate operations, but I'm not sure.
So this office was the boys' bedroom way back before time began. It looks much larger with most of the clutter out of it. I'm dreaming of how nice it will look with a fresh coat of paint, some rearranging and decorating. Too many times, it was too easy to just pile things here or there until it became impossible to put things in an orderly fashion.
My Adorable Cousin and I three years ago cleaned out the back bedroom and I put some of the clutter out of there in here. I did get some of that whittled down, but not enough. Hopefully this is the year I really 'get down to the brass tacks' and finish the decluttering. God willing, tomorrow will be a milestone—a real step in the right direction.
Philippians 3:1 "Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not irksome, but for you it is safe."
