From a Long Weekend to a Long Day
Last weekend was a long weekend, this week has been interesting as well. I'm trying to make it through a vacation Bible school and it is amazing the new words you make up when you're sleeping and typing. Today was camel day as some call it. It's down hill from here. The kiddos are doing better than their teacher, I think some days. I have a heart-warming touch here. We are doing the "I am's of Jesus", and we have memory verses. One of the rewards for saying the verses are pencils, and I have a fancy pink one left of a certain variety.
We have more boys than girls in our group, and one young lady's eyes lit up at the idea of receiving that pink pencil, but alas, the memory verse wasn't in her memory. One of her classmates, who is quite clever volunteered to say the memory verse. My helper, his momma, was being funny and asked if he wanted the pink pencil. He said he was going to say the verse and get the pink pencil to give to the young lady. Now, of course that isn't going to work, but how sweet was that?
We will try to find a shorter verse for her to memorize so she can get her prize, but this Grandmother found it precious that our young gentleman was that thoughtful.
John 10:9 "I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture. 10) The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly."
